On April 8, 2017 Shannon Marlin and Michael Sylvestre, owners of Spanish Fly Hair Garage, Maverique Style House, and Crushed VLVT Bumble and Bumble salons, hosted a Hip-Hop fundraiser for the Sacramento SPCA. The event was a collaborative effort between Marlin and Sylvestre, music and runway organizer Jake Desrochers, fashion show director Shayla Wynne, and art curator Jenn Ponci, with the additional support from the three salon crews.
Spanish Fly is located at 1723 J street: the heart of Midtown in Sacramento, California.
Oil and mixed media paintings by local artist Jacob Lewis were displayed in the main room for Flyfest, and will be hanging through June Second Saturday

This community effort occurs monthly through all-ages events at local businesses who open their doors one night a month to display artwork, and showcase live entertainment. TRIBE OF LEVI has been a respected group and positive force in the Sacramento music scene for several years, delivering uplifting messages to their fans and listeners.

In addition to donating merchandise from his companies America Hustle and [xs]treme clothing to support the SSPCA and Daniel Whores Benefit, Cawzlos took the stage just moments after news started spreading that his long-standing friend and colleague for whom the latter fundraiser was for had just passed away.r

Local DJ, muralist, graffiti writer, and 3rd-generation sign-painter Daniel “Whores” Osterhoff was scheduled to perform and contribute his artwork to this event. Unfortunately, only days prior, he fell critically ill from a heart condition. The 2017 Flyfest event expanded it’s cause to include medical fundraising for Daniel. Everyone in Sacramento was devastated to hear the news. The second fashion show was cancelled immediately after Cawzlos took the stage, as all participants had been touched by his positive influence on the community.
